There's very little left of a Blandford-Blenheim Township home following a tragic fire Monday. The Ontario Fire Marshall's Office and investigators continued sifting through the Township 12 Road Home, searching for a cause to the fatal fire. Orville Fried, who lives nearby, says he saw smoke quickly fill the sky - moments after the fire started. "It was sometime from 10 o'clock to half past 10 when we seen it. Right away we heard the Plattsville Fire Department coming down." Lorne Wight, who is an area business owner, says he lived in the home in the mid 50's through to 1971 and hopes the Ontario Fire Marshall finds an answer to the cause. "I'm sure they wonder what the circumstances were and how this came to happen. It's not like it was a rattle trap house - it was a nice one, so you wouldn't think a fire would start on its own, but it's hard to say...it's a shame." Oxford OPP Constable Stacey Culbert says the identity of the two victims that were found will not be known for a number of weeks. "It's still an active investigation that we're working on right now. We do have the human remains that have been found, so obviously with any identified remains we will take actions from there". Dr. Ron Gingrich and his wife Lois lived in the home.
