As of April 1st, the Ontario Early Years program has a new lead agency. Oxford Community Child Care were selected to take over the program by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services. The county of Oxford handled the program for a number of years but in November of 2011 announced that they would be withdrawing their responsibilities as of March 31st. Ingersoll Program Supervisor for O-C-C-C, Wilma Molinaro says the Main Centre in Woodstock will be closed during the transition. "There's a process for use to get going on this and we're working very hard to establish the Early Years programs right away. The timeline proposed for Woodstock is to reopen July 2, but we're working very hard to have that happen even sooner." Molinaro says the Ingersoll satellite centre and associated outreaches will remain open during that time. Information on the Tillsonburg centre will be released on a later date.
