Ontario Liberal Party Proposing a 4 Day Work Week

Liberal leader Steven Del Duca says if elected, he would implement a 4 day work week pilot in Ontario.

ONTARIO - The Ontario Liberal Party is proposing a four day work week.

Leader Steven Del Duca has started campaigning and one of his election promises is to pilot a four day work week. The four day work week allows you to get your 40 hours in over 4 days, instead of 5. Del Duca says he would also resumed the universal basic income pilot.

"We'll be the party that puts workers first, and that helps our province transition to a new way of doing things. We're supposed to work to live, not live to work."

Four day work weeks are already happening in New Zealand, Japan, Scotland and Spain. Del Duca says he thinks it would work here as well.

"We need people in Ontario - particularly the next generation of workers - to believe they can live happy lives and pursue rewarding careers right here. The Ontario LIberal Party will put workers first in this province, because that’s how our businesses and our economy will succeed."
