Ontario Parks is encouraging everyone to get outside for at least 30 minutes each day for the next 30 days.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County residents are encouraged to get outside.
Ontario Parks has brought back the 30x30 challenge, which wants people to get outside for 30 minutes, for 30 days.
Market Development Specialist with Ontario Parks, John Foster says the challenge can be done locally.
"For Oxford County residents, there are lots of places in Oxford County that they could go. Anywhere that there nature is a great place to take part in the challenge. It is really just about spending that time outside and making it apart of your routine."
Foster says that the benefits are worth it.
"There are a lot of documented health benefits for spending time outside. There are a lot of studies that show that spending time in nature makes people happier, healthier and less stressed."
Trillium Woods Provincial Park near Woodstock offers a 1 kilometer accessible hiking trail for visitors to get out in nature. Trillium Woods is a non-operating park, so there are no visitor facilities, please tread lightly and stay on the trail.
To visit an operating Ontario provincial park with camping, day use areas, comfort stations and more facilities, Oxford County residents are encouraged to venture down towards nearby Lake Erie and consider a visit to Port Burwell Provincial Park, Turkey Point Provincial Park, Long Point Provincial Park or Selkirk Provincial Park.
