Ontario WSIB Workers Threaten Strike Action

The union says workers will hit picket lines if a deal isn't reached by May 30th

ONTARIO - Workplace Safety and Insurance Board workers in Ontario are threatening to go on strike.

The Canadian Union of Public Employees, the union representing the workers, says a strike will take place if a deal isn't reached by May 30th.

The main issues are wages, staff burnout, resources and training.

The union says about 97 percent of its members voted in favour of labour action.

According to CUPE, the two sides are not close to a deal right now.

There are two days of negotiations left before the deadline.
