Woodstock Police will be on the lookout for distracted drivers, impaired drivers, and aggressive drivers over the Thanksgiving long weekend.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police will be hitting the roads over the long weekend.
Operation Impact begins today and officers will be on the lookout for driving behaviours that put everyone at risk. This includes distracted driving, aggressive driving and driving while impaired by drugs, alcohol or fatigue. Officers will also be on the lookout for drivers and passengers who fail to wear their seatbelts.
With lots of people hitting the roads to visit friends and families for Thanksgiving, Woodstock Police want to make sure everyone makes it to their destination safely.
Across Canada, motor vehicle crashes kill about 2,000 people each year. About 10,000 people sustain serious injuries and about 165,000 report minor injuries.
