Norfolk OPP officers are credited with saving a life after administering Naloxone twice to the same woman in 24 hours.
NORFOLK COUNTY - Norfolk County OPP officers applied Naloxone to the same woman twice in 24 hours, saving her life.
The 35 year old woman was taken to the hospital after officers applied Naloxone to the woman early Saturday morning. Constable Ed Sanchuk says that 24 hours later, police were called to the same home, at 8 p.m. on Saturday and had to administer Naloxone again.
"When officers arrived they found the same woman unresponsive with no heartbeat. The officers were able to conduct CPR and administer Naloxone, which is on our belts and as a result she was transported to a local area hospital in Simcoe by EMS, where she was able to regain consciousness and became alert and was able to speak to physicians."
Sanchuk says this should serve as a reminder to everyone, just how dangerous opioid addiction is.
"When you put opioids in your body, you are rolling the dice, you are taking that chance and you may not come back from taking those drugs, you may end up dying."
