The County of Brant is looking for feedback from the public about your vision for the future.

BRANT COUNTY - The County of Brant is undergoing a strategic planning process and is looking for some public feedback.

Mayor David Bailey says they want citizens to share their vision, expectations and priorities for the future.

"With a new Council firmly in place, the time is right to look ahead at the future of the County of Brant. The strategic planning process starts with a vision and we need the community to participate in the visioning process. Tell us what is important to you. Where do you think we should focus our attention for the next five, ten or twenty years to make Brant the best it can be?"

Citizens are encouraged to participate in the community visioning exercise by:

- Completing the online survey (www.brant.ca/OurFutureSurvey) or hard copy survey found at any of the County of Brant Customer Service offices. The survey closes on April 30, 2019.

- Attend the Public Open House on April 17, 2019 from 12 – 3pm and 5 - 7 pm at the Bethel Community Hall, 154 Bethel Rd. Paris.

- Attend the Public Information Session on April 17, 2019 7 – 9 pm at the Bethel Community Hall, 154 Bethel Rd. Paris.

- Complete Vision cards that are available to individuals and community groups. The vision cards are available at the Customer Service offices or by contacting info@brant.ca. The vision cards are due back by April 30, 2019.

The previous strategic planning exercise took place in 2012. The following key strategic priorities were defined:

1. Managing finances in a fiscally responsible and sustainable manner

2. Ensuring our infrastructure and capital assets are well managed, maintained and improved

3. Ensuring our community is healthy, safe and progressive

4. Ensuring high quality service to our community including effective 2 way communication

Bailey says he really thinks the County of Brant is moving in the right direction, however they want to make sure that they keep improving.

"Overall, I feel the County of Brant made strides in all these areas and there are many things we will continue to improve upon. Moving forward, we have new opportunities, new challenges and fresh eyes. This is a great opportunity to help shape the future of our beautiful County. Do you feel passionate about heritage? Do you have thoughts about residential growth? Do you want more walking trails? You will be heard. We invite you into this process and conversation."
