WOODSTOCK - The Downtown Woodstock BIA has started a new contest encouraging people to head downtown and support local businesses.
You can show everyone how you are supporting one of our Downtown Woodstock businesses by taking a selfie/photo at their location or enjoying their product/service. Post the photo to Facebook or Instagram using the hashtag #OurDowntownWoodstock for an opportunity to win $100 BIA Gift Card.
BIA member Fadel Zabian, says now more than ever, it is crucial to support local business.
"It's important that we shop local, that we spend local, for me it has always been help your neighbour. The more of those people we lose, the more our tax base will be affected."
Zabian says shopping local is extremely crucial right now.
"At the end of the day, it's helping your neighbour, soon you are going to see plans coming down with respect to restaurants and bars as to what they can do. Whether it's COVID-19 or not, I always believe that we are stronger in numbers and our strength only increases when we support local and I don't care if it's downtown, if its your agriculture food market, whatever it may be, if you can spend local it comes back to you ten fold."
A winner will be drawn at random, no purchase is required to participate. Winners will be announced on the Downtown Woodstock BIA Facebook & Instagram pages, makes sure to follow us to find out if you won. Draws will occur every other Wednesday!
