The outdoor pool at the Lake Lisgar Waterpark will be open to the public this summer with a possible start date set for July 11th.
TILLSONBURG - The outdoor pool at the Lake Lisgar Waterpark will be open to the public this summer.
Council has set out a goal to have the pool open by July 11th. Mayor Stephen Molnar says the Waterpark though and the slide will be closed.
"Waterpark's are still not allowed in the Province. We will be segregating the activity of the slide away from the pool, so what we will have is an outdoor pool for the summer of 2020."
Molnar explains why council wanted to have the pool open for residents this summer.
"We do need to be responsible caretakers and providers of activities in our community, for both recreation and to also provide emotional stability for both our youth and all members of our community. The pool, council has decided is an investment and a valuable historical aspect for both the safety of our community and the enjoyment of our youth."
Molnar says council will continue to evaluate things and work with the Province as we move towards reopening the Province.
