After over 2-thousand RIDE events, 309 people have been charged in Oxford County during West Region OPP's Festive RIDE program.
OXFORD COUNTY - West Region Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid over 300 charges so far during their Festive RIDE program.
Since the program began on November 8th, areas across the West Region have been conducting RIDE events to work to prevent impaired driving over the holiday season. So far, this has resulted in:
- 309 Impaired Charges
- 51 Warn-Range Suspensions
- 2109 Total RIDE Events
In total for the year, West Region OPP have now conducted over 9-thousand RIDE check events spanning all 13 of their detachments.
OPP along with the Woodstock Police Service want to remind everyone that you cannot drive while under the effects of alcohol, marijuana, and even some prescription medications.
The Festive RIDE program is set to continue through to January.
