Members of the public are welcome to attend a free presentation, when Oxford hosts the 2nd annual Renewable Energy Academy.
WOODSTOCK - The second annual Renewable Energy Academy is coming back to Oxford County.
It's set to take place on Thursday April 5th this year. Manager of Strategic Initiatives Jay Heaman says they had a very diverse audience in 2017.
"Last year we had about 50 people from 14 different nations that spent two days at York University on RETScreen, which is Renewable Energy Software Programming. Then they came down to Oxford and we had some sessions here and some field experiences for them."
Members of the public are welcome to sit in on the free presentation at the Oxford County Administration Building. York University's Dr. Jose Etchverry will talk about renewable energy projects from all around the world.
Graham and Emma Cubitt will also be in attendance, to talk about Indwell's Blossom Park. Heaman says it's a passive house project that will help residents save 80 to 90 percent on their energy bills.
"So what you end up with is a building that is very efficient and very healthy because it is continuous air exchange and now you have enabled the building to transition to renewable energy to offset the balance of the renewable energy requirement."
The presentation will get underway at 7:30pm at the Oxford County Administration Building.
