Voter turnout in Oxford County was in line with the national average - one of the highest turnouts since 1993.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County made it's voice heard in the federal election yesterday.
56 834 people cast their ballots in our area. That equates to 68.12% of eligible voters coming out to their polling stations. That puts us well in line with the national average, which was pegged at 68.49%.
This election marks the highest voter turnout since 1993.
Students - generally thought to be apathetic when it comes to voting - were also more involved in this year's election: some advanced polling stations were set up at university and college campuses. More than 42 000 students participated advanced polling.
