Oxford OPP Briefs - Dec. 18th

Multiple incidents took place in Oxford County over the weekend. Officers caught two impaired drivers, and are investigating two separate thefts.

ZORRA TOWNSHIP - This past Friday (December 15th) just after 12 p.m. there was a theft on Road 78 in Zorra Township.

Officers responded, and it was determined that unknowns attended the address and removed an electric fuel tank from the property. 

The theft is valued at approximately $4,000.

Anyone with information about this ongoing investigation is asked to contact the Oxford OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

NORWICH - Just after 6:15 p.m. last Friday, Oxford OPP responded to multiple traffic complaints at an address on Substation Road in Norwich.

Officers attended the area and subsequently located the vehicle and took the driver into custody without incident.

As a result, police charged a 45-year-old Norfolk County man, with Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs,
Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration 80 plus, and Dangerous driving.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Woodstock at a later date.

TILLSONBURG - On Saturday (December 16th), Oxford OPP responded to a noise complaint on Wolf Street in Tillsonburg.

The incident took place just after 9:20 p.m. and as a result a 29-year-old Oxford County man has been charged with operation while impaired - blood concentration 80 plus.

He will be in Woodstock Court at a later date.

NORWICH TOWNSHIP - This past Saturday, there was a theft from a construction site on Clover Lane in Norwich Township.

Oxford OPP responded to the scene just before 10:10 p.m. and determined between December 15, and December 16, unknown people attended the address and removed two enclosed trailers from the property.

The theft of the trailers and tools is estimated at approximately $40,000.

Members of the Oxford County OPP are continuing to investigate and are seeking the public's assistance with this investigation. If anyone has any information, or if they have video surveillance that captured the theft, they are being asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
