Oxford OPP Briefs

Briefs include two people charged with stunt driving on the 401 on Saturday, a daytime B&E on Oxford Centre Road, wanted man arrested in Tillsonburg and an impaired driver in Ingersoll.

NORWICH TOWNSHIP - Oxford OPP are investigating after a break and enter at a home on Oxford Centre Road in Norwich Township. 

Police say cash and an iPad were taken from the residence on Saturday morning, sometime between 8:30 and 11:30. 

Anyone with information about this investigation is asked to contact the Oxford County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

TILLSONBURG - Oxford OPP arrested a 37 year old man from Tillsonburg on Sunday afternoon while he was riding a bicycle on Broadway Street.

Police say the man was known to police and had an outstanding warrant. He was arrested and charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. 

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock at a later date.

NORWICH TOWNSHIP - A 24 year old driver from Toronto will be walking for a bit after police caught them stunt driving on Highway 401 in Norwich Township on Saturday morning. 

Police say the driver was going at least 50 km/h over the posted speed limit around 10:30 am. 

OPP are reminding all motorists that the minimum fine if convicted is $2,000 and that an automatic driver's licence suspension for seven (7) days and a seven (7) day vehicle impoundment is incurred.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock at a later date.

BLANDFORD-BLENHEIM - Oxford OPP charged a 24 year old driver from Cambridge with stunt driving on Highway 401 in Blandford-Blenheim Township on Saturday afternoon. 

Police say the driver was going at least 50 km/h over the posted speed limit around 4:30 p.m.

INGERSOLL - A 31 year old from Ingersoll has been charged with impaired driving. 

Police say they stopped the driver on Victoria Street on Sunday night for a routine traffic stop. Officers detected the driver was under the influence and charged them with impaired driving.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock at a later date.
