Oxford OPP Briefs

Briefs include an impaired drive who fled after a crash, a truck stolen in SWOX and a Good Samaritan who helped police track down a stolen vehicle.

SWOX - Oxford OPP reminding everyone to pocket your keys after a truck was stolen Wednesday morning on Hamilton Road in South-West Oxford.

Police say the truck was unlocked and the keys were left inside. The vehicle was last seen heading westbound on Hamilton Road at a high rate of speed.

It's described as a silver coloured, 2007 Chevrolet, Tahoe with a black front bumper with custom rims.

SWOX - A 46 year old man from South-West Oxford has been charged with impaired driving after a crash on Mount Elgin Road. 

The two vehicle crash happened between Duffy Line and Plank Line on Tuesday night. One of the drivers left the scene and were located a short while later.

They were charged with fail to remain, on top of the impaired driving charge.

TILLSONBURG - Oxford OPP are thanking a good Samaritan for helping them track down a stolen vehicle. 

Police were called to Simcoe Street in Tillsonburg on Tuesday night about a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot.

Officers arrived on scene and arrested a 29 year old from Hastings. He was charged with impaired driving, possession of stolen property and possession of heroin.

TILLSONBURG - A wallet has been stolen from a vehicle parked on Pearl Street in Tillsonburg.

Police say the theft happened on Tuesday around noon. 

The OPP is urging all vehicle owners to always lock their vehicles and to remove valuables.
