Oxford OPP Briefs

Briefs include the Oxford Street Crime Unit recovering stolen property after executing a search warrant in Ingersoll, a four year old locking her mother out of the house in Tillsonburg, and a B&E in Ingersoll.

INGERSOLL - The Oxford OPP Community Street Crime Unit has recovered a number of stolen items after executing a search warrant in Ingersoll.

Officers found a large quantity of property that they believe has been stolen from the community. One of the items recovered was an expensive women's road bicycle that police would like to return to its rightful owner.

Investigators are continuing their investigation and are making every attempt to identify the owners of the property recovered. Oxford OPP Detachment Commander says this search warrant is the result of some good police work from the Street Crime Unit.

"Our Community Street Crimes Unit has been very proactive with theft investigations. This in yet another example that highlights the need for the police and the community to work in partnership to resolve crime issues. People who commit crimes or who are involved in criminal activity, know the police are watching but if we create a community where these people know everyone is watching and reporting, that will promote safer communities within our County."

An investigation is ongoing.
