The Oxford OPP have laid charges a fatal hit-and-run on Highway 401 west of Oxford Road 3.
UPDATE 4 (December 22nd @ 1:35 p.m.) - Charges have been laid in the hit-and-run collision.
Oxford OPP responded to the crash on the 401 in Blandford-Blenheim that claimed the life of a tow truck driver from Kitchener.
Through investigating, police have laid charges of dangerous operation causing death, and failure to stop after an accident resulting in death to a 32-year-old Mount Hope man.
He has been released from custody and will appear in Woodstock Court next month.

UPDATE 3 (December 5th @ 6:50 a.m.) - Police have identified the driver and the vehicle of interest.
Sergeant Ed Sanchuk shared the news in a video posted on the OPP West Region X page yesterday. He also said the investigation is ongoing and no further details are available at this time.
He also thanked everyone who has provided information throughout this investigation so far.

UPDATE 2 - There is more information coming out about the fatal collision on the 401.
The Oxford OPP have identified the tow truck driver as a 42-year-old Kitchener man. The police have also identified a potential vehicle of interest, and say it is a commercial motor vehicle, with a blue tractor and trailer, with a black tarp on top.
The public is being asked for their help in trying to identify the exact make and model of the transport truck, along with the occupant or occupants that were inside.

UPDATE - The Oxford OPP have an update regarding the fatal collision on the 401.
Constable Matt Foster has posted that the stretch of 401 between Cedar Creek Road and Oxford Road 29 has been reopened. Foster is still asking the public to come forward with any information or dashcam footage of the collision.

BLANDFORD-BLENHEIM - Some sad news coming from the Oxford OPP.
A collision took place just after 7:15 a.m. today on the 401, in the westbound lanes, west of Oxford Road 3 in the Township of Blandford-Blenheim. Community Engagement Officer, Constable Matt Foster, shares the unfortunate news.
"Police arrived on scene with fire, and paramedics, and located a tow truck driver that had been struck by an unknown vehicle while they were assisting a motorist and the tow truck driver, unfortunately, I'm sad to say, was pronounced deceased on scene."
Foster goes on to say there will be road closures as the investigation continues.
"The highway will be currently closed between Cedar Creek Road and Oxford Road 29 for the next few hours, likely well into the afternoon."
Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or may have dashcam footage is asked to call the OPP or Crime Stoppers.
