Everyone in This Room Will Someday Be Dead by Emily Austin has been announced as the Oxford Reads selection for 2024.
OXFORD COUNTY - The Oxford Reads selection for 2024 has been announced.
Everyone in This Room Will Someday Be Dead by Emily Austin will be at the center of the county-wide book club this year. It's about a young woman who starts a new job as a receptionist at a Catholic Church but becomes obsessed with learning about her predecessor's mysterious death.
Both the Oxford County Library (OCL) and the Woodstock Public Library (WPL) will have copies of this book for people to check out. The same goes for ebooks, audiobooks, and large print versions.
Sarah Adam, a Systems Support Librarian for Oxford County, says the WPL and all the OCL branches will offer programs for people to share their reading experiences over the next few months.
"Oxford Reads is about more than just promoting literature and Canadian authors; it’s about uniting people around a common theme and finding ways for people to learn and connect outside the pages of a book."
All of the programs will lead up to the big Oxford Reads Gala in the fall, with the author in attendance.
