Woodstock City Council has handed out a few awards for some of the best floats at the Santa Claus Parade this year.
WOODSTOCK - Trigon Construction had the best float at the Santa Claus Parade in Woodstock this year.
City Council recently handed out awards from the parade and they deemed Trigon to have the best float and Vuteq was the runner up.
Trigon Construction collaborated with Signify Design on the float, and they also finished in first and second place respectively for the corporate floats this year.
Mayor Trevor Birtch says they were not the only winners.
"Of course one of the ones that everybody loves is for school spirit and we had a runner up of Woodstock Collegiate Institute and our first place overall was the Woodstock Trinity School."
Other winners included the Woodstock Agriculture Society for Community Service, with the Woodstock Scouts being the runner up. Birtch says the winners were given a special plaque.
"It's a time for recognition and we make sure between the City and the BIA that they have a nice plaque that they can take to their service club or business or school and show that spirit every day of the year."
