Over 1,500 poppies will be on display outside Park Place Retirement Residence for Remembrance Day this Saturday.
WOODSTOCK - Remembrance Day will soon be upon us.
This Saturday, people will stop to honour the past and present veterans that have served the Country.
Park Place Retirement Residence will have a display out front showing their support. Sales and Marketing Manager, Jordan Groulx explains what people have done.
"They write really heartfelt messages on the back of poppies and then cut them out for us. I have about 1,500 of them and we will lay them out at the front of the building every year on November 11th."
She adds it is special for the people living in the facility as they do have veterans who fought in World War II as residents.
Groulx says the message depends on the person.
"For older people, they have a little more experience with this kind of thing, so they can put a little message on there that kind of speaks to them. It is really personal, so it definitely is different for everybody."
She mentions there will be a celebration at Victoria Park and lots of people come to enjoy looking at the messages.
