Ned Burwell presented the Oxford Elgin Child and Youth Centre with a $10,000 cheque today thanks to his Pause for Love Fundraiser.
WOODSTOCK - The Oxford Elgin Child and Youth Centre was the latest organization to receive funding from the Pause for Love Fundraiser.
Last month Ned Burwell from Endless Boundaries brought in tattoo artists from all across the region to Ingersoll. Thousands of people lined up for hours to have a semi-colon or B-love design inked onto their skin by volunteer tattoo artists raising over $53,000. Burwell tells Heart FM the event makes him proud to live in this community.
"Oxford County has the heart of a lion and I am proud to be a member of this community and I am proud because I am surrounded by so many great people who are willing to step up and give and most importantly are willing to step up and love."
Burwell has spread out the funds to a number of different organizations who focus on youth and mental health. Today he presented the OECYC with $10,000.
Executive Director Mamta Chail Teves says this money will help them out a lot.
"We have identified a number of different gaps and barriers for youth accessing care, so it will go towards programming and accessibility for children and youth to get the services they need."
She adds they really wanted to thank Burwell and all the work he has done with the Pause for Love Fundraiser.
Some other organizations who have been given money locally include the Fusion Youth Centre in Ingersoll and CMHA Oxford.
