Possible changes have been drafted for what to do with the over eight acres of land that holds the former Woodstock Hospital. The neighbourhood was invited to see the various concepts at a public meeting Tuesday night that saw an overwhelming turnout. Chair of the Woodstock Hospital Board of Trust, Ed Down, is uncertain which concept he favours most. "I haven't really decided what the best view is. We want to hear back from people. We've had just one meeting with the consultants. At this point in time the board hasn't made any decisions at all." The concepts ranged from low density single detached homes to high density high rise buildings. Some even included commercial land use. You can check out the plans here. Karen Nilsson lives just north of the hospital grounds. She was pleased with what she saw. "I think they have some really good concepts actually. I'm pleasantly surprised with some of the stuff they've come up with." CEO of the Hospital Natasa Veljovic says they want this public input. "We've been here for 116 years and it's certainly our landmark. And this is a significant development of change in this area." The hospital first faces demolition which Ed Down says won't happen until the end of this year or start of next year.
