Power Increase

Ontario Energy Board raising electricity prices in Ontario, starting Nov. 1st

Don't be shocked to see your hydro bill rise again next month.  Ontario homeowners and small businesses can expect to see an increase that will take effect Nov. 1st.

Rates are going up 3%, which should add about $4 to the average monthly household bill.

Time-of-use customers will see the rate rise to 7.2-cents per kilowatt hours for off-peak, 10.9-cents for mid-peak and 12.9-cents for on-peak usage.

The OEB blames the increase on more power coming from renewable sources, and a higher price for natural gas.  They're also factoring in variations between previous estimates and actual costs.
