Premier Ford Vaccinated Today in Etobicoke

Premier Doug Ford and Deputy Premier Christine Elliott have now been filmed taking the Astra-Zeneca vaccine in an effort to show the vaccine is safe and effective.

TORONTO - Premier Doug Ford got his first dose of the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine today at an Etobicoke pharmacy.

Ford says the Government is working hard to get needles into arms.

"Our government is moving quickly to get vaccines to where they will have the greatest impact. In addition to over 100 mass vaccination clinics, vaccines are available at 700 pharmacies across Ontario, doctor's offices and hospital clinics and we are getting mobile vaccine clinics to workplaces, high risk neighbourhoods, residential buildings, community centres, and places of worship."

The AstraZeneca vaccine is one that has caused hesitancy for many as it is not approved for use in several countries. Canada recently changed the guidelines to only allow people 55 and over to receive AstraZeneca.

Both the Premier and Deputy Premier Christine Elliott have been filmed taking the Astra-Zeneca vaccine in an effort to show the vaccine is safe and effective. There are no reports of blood clots in Canada from anyone who has taken the AstraZeneca vaccine.
