Project Fallout Charges 8 Woodstock Residents

43 charges have been laid to 8 Woodstock residents after 2 search warrants were issued.

WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police have made a major drug bust in the city.

Project Fallout has wrapped up, Constable Nikki VanLeeuwen, explains what the project was targeting. "It has been a project that has been underway with our Criminal Intelligence Drug Enforcement Unit and they have been working on it for 6 weeks. It is a street level investigation where they have been gathering intelligence, obviously, and watching for the trafficking of crystal meth, and prescription narcotics specifically."

2 search warrants in the Friendly City were conducted where quantities of narcotics, Canadian currency, and crystal meth were seized. Constable VanLeeuwen discusses the charges and why the project took so long to complete. "They have arrested and charged 8 people so far, and they have 43 charges against the people that have been arrested. It takes that long because they have to gather information and really watch people during that time before the courts will give them warrants, because we have to have warrants to get into people's homes and arrest them." Those charged were all from Woodstock including 51 year old Stewart Splan who has been charged with 4 counts of drug trafficking, 46 year old Jason Hale has been charged with 4 counts of trafficking, and 38 year old Kevin Pommer has been charged with 2 counts of drug trafficking.

Constable VanLeeuwen spoke to Heart FM and wants to warn those in the city taking part in illegal activity that you will be caught. "We are out there and our drug enforcement are working diligently and very hard to keep these drugs off the street. Hopefully the public and the people that are brining the drugs to our city realize that we have an intelligence unit that are diligent and working very hard around the clock to try to eliminate the drug issue that we do have in our community." 34 year old Robert Westra has been charged with 11 counts of drug trafficking, 67 year old Lou Antonissen has been charged with 7 counts of trafficking, 41 year old Jennifer Langille with 1 count of trafficking, 41 year old Christopher Bragg with 1 count of trafficking, and 31 year old Jeanelle Robins with 10 counts of trafficking. Woodstock Police will continue to investigate the 3 other outstanding suspects in regards to this project.
