You will be able to download your proof of vaccination QR code this weekend and your download date will be based on your birth month.
ONTARIO - Ontarians who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 will be able to download their proof of vaccination QR code this weekend.
According to the Ontario Health website, the scannable codes will be available for download over the next three days with different cohorts based on the month you were born.
Those born between January and April will be able to download their QR code today. Anyone born from May to August will be able to download theirs tomorrow and those born between September and December will have to wait until Sunday. Premier Doug Ford will officially unveil the new Verify Ontario smartphone app at 11:00 a.m. today and it's supposed to streamline the vaccine passport program. Businesses and organizations will be able to use the app to scan patrons QR codes to see if they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The free app is already available to download on Google Play for Android phones and Apple's App Store for iPhones.
This will replace the current system in place, where you have to provide a copy of your vaccination receipt and a piece if photo ID in order to access indoor dining rooms, movie theatres, gyms and more.
