Province Announces Additional Funding for Local Hospitals

The Government of Ontario has announced $4.3 million dollars in additional funding for the three hospitals in Oxford County.

OXFORD COUNTY - The Government of Ontario has announced $4.3 million dollars in additional funding for the three hospitals in Oxford County.

The funding includes  $291,600 for the Alexandra Hospital Ingersoll, $457,600 for the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital and $3,664,300 for the Woodstock Hospital. Oxford MPP Ernie Hardeman says this money is part of his Governments commitment to end hallway health care, support current and future patient services and investing in equipment to immediately tackle COVID-19 by increasing funding for the province’s hospitals.

“The Ontario government is supporting Oxford’s hospitals by ensuring they have the resources needed to provide high-quality care and services now and in the future. This increased funding in our local hospitals is another way our government is providing support for health care to ensure patients can continue receive the high level of care our hospitals are known for.”

As part of Ontario’s Action Plan: Responding to COVID-19, the Ontario government is investing $935 million more in Ontario hospitals this year, including $594 million to meet current and future demands for regular services. This represents approximately a 3% overall increase in funding to the hospital sector.
