It appears the issues with Toronto Public Health are over, so today's numbers of 1,038 new cases and an additional 1,277 resolved cases are accurate.
ONTARIO - The Province of Ontario has confirmed 1,038 new cases of COVID-19 this morning, bringing the total number of cases in the Province to 289,621.
Ontario is also reporting 43 new deaths today related to COVID-19, bringing the total number of deaths in the Province to 6,773. Another 1,277 cases have been labelled resolved, bringing the total number of resolved cases to 272,146. The Province also confirmed 37 new cases of the COVID-19 variant that originated in the UK bringing the total to 348. We also have 10 confirmed cases of the UK variant that originated in South Africa and 1 that originated from Brazil.
The province completed 56,165 tests yesterday. We currently have 758 COVID-19 patients in the hospital with 277 people in the ICU and 192 in the ICU on a ventilator. Most of the new cases are once again coming from hot spot regions with 376 new cases in Toronto, 142 in Peel and 122 in York Region.
