The positivity rate today is 2% after the Province confirmed 1,072 new cases this morning and 1,709 resolved cases after completing over 50,000 tests.
ONTARIO - The Province of Ontario has confirmed 1,072 new cases of COVID-19 this morning, bringing the total number of cases in the Province to 281,566. The positivity rate today is 2%.
The Province also announced 41 new COVID-19 related deaths bringing the total to 6,596. Another 1,709 cases have been labelled resolved, bringing the total number of resolved cases to 261,700. The Province has confirmed 1 new case of the COVID-19 variant that originated in the UK bringing the total to 221.
The province completed 52,504 tests yesterday. We currently have 948 COVID-19 patients in the hospital with 313 people in the ICU and 226 in the ICU on a ventilator. Most of the new cases are coming from hot spot regions with 393 new cases in Toronto, 196 in Peel and 125 in York Region.
