Lots of classic cars will gather at the Proxi 230 Travel Stop in Woodstock this summer.
WOODSTOCK - Classic cars will return to the truck stop in Woodstock this summer.
The Cops and Rodders Cruise night used to be at the TA Travel Center for several years. TA has shutdown since then, and it's now known as the Proxi 230 Travel Stop. Site Manager Fllad Kraja says the Proxi 230 Car Cruise will launch tomorrow evening and it will continue every Thursday this summer leading up to September 24th.
"Anyone that walks in and wants to see all of these beautiful vintage cars is welcome to come! We have plenty of parking, plenty of seating and outside seating, so everyone is welcome."
The weekly event will start at 5:00 p.m. and wrap up by 8:00 p.m.. It's free to attend, and Kraja says there will be special deals for those who participate in the car show.
They will be playing music from the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. Santa Ron will also be on site, and there's a 50/50 draw as well, all in support of Power of Hope.
Karen Geerts is the Executive Director and she tells us about the local children's charity.
"We put pajamas and teddy bears together for the less fortunate kids at Christmas time, but we also add in hats, mitts, socks, underwear blankets and everything that's comfortable for them."
Power of Hope works in conjunction with the Christmas Place and with Children's Aid to help kids in crisis care. The charity made 1,200 packages last year, and it's looking to make 1,400 this year.
Fllad Kraja and Karen Geerts stopped by the Heart FM studio with Ron Archer, aka Santa Ron, on Tuesday, June 23rd. You can listen to their full interview with Dan and Marcie below:
