Rafferty's Connections to Mt. Forest Area Detailed

Day 24 of the Michael Rafferty Murder trial involved plenty of civilian witnesses again. The Crown called up as many as 8 who were mostly female, dated Rafferty in the spring of 2009 and most had met Rafferty through an on-line dating service "Plenty Of Fish". 50-year-old Sharon Latimer, a mother of 6 children, testified she had a relationship with Rafferty by communicating with him through the website?s messaging service. Latimer said Rafferty?s status was called ?Bring Tori Home?. A 3rd witness, 30 year old Michelle Wagler, who lived in Tavistock in the spring of 2009, said she too met on line with Rafferty through the same dating service in January 2009. Wagler testified Rafferty invited to take her out to Cora?s Restaurant in London on Good Friday April 10th, but declined the meeting. She said Rafferty?s online messaging profile status read ?Please Bring Tori Home?. She then changed her status to ?Prayers for Tori?. Another witness, 23-year-old Rachel Divell also testified she had a long-term relationship with Rafferty that began in 2005 at the age of 17. Divell said they used to drive frequently out on rural roads in the Guelph, Fergus and Cambridge areas and Rafferty always seem to know where he was going. Rafferty?s former boss, John Cruickshank of the landscaping company ?Outdoor Services? also testified and provided work orders where Rafferty worked as a landscaper and worked at a landfill site in Riverstown ? a mere 2 kilometers away from where Tori Stafford was found murdered. Testimony ended in the early afternoon Friday and will resume again on Tuesday at 10AM. More details on today's submissions can be found on the Michael Rafferty Trial Page.
