Friends will be remembered and sacrifices will be honoured during the Seventh Annual Private Tyler Todd Memorial Event
PLATTSVILLE - People will be gathering in Plattsville to remember a fallen hero and to support those living with the horrors of war.
The Seventh Annual Private Tyler Todd Memorial Event is happening April 14 and 15.
Organizer Trevor Baer was friends with Todd when he died while serving in Afghanistan in 2010.
"Since then we've got together and honoured him and all the other fallen soldiers, plus we have military displays from Veterans Affairs Canada and all the money goes to Wounded Warriors which helps with mental health stress for the front line workers and the soldiers."
Along with a hockey tournament the organizers have put together an Easter Egg Hunt, dances, a silent auction, and lots of kids activities. Baer says it promises to be a fun event for the entire family.
"We have lots of other things happening, we have a silent auction, raffle table, live bands, lots of military displays coming this year. Opening ceremonies at 6 o'clock."
