Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oxford County will offer virtual events this winter for Play for Kids Sake. They're also hoping to host in-person bowling events in Woodstock and Ingersoll in March.
WOODSTOCK - Registration has started for Big Brothers Big Sisters Play for Kids Sake.
The plan right now is to have the bowling event in March, while they will also offer virtual events this winter as well. Resource Development Manager Liz Wismer-Van Meer says they originally scheduled bowling for February at C&D Lanes in Woodstock and Ingersoll Lanes in Ingersoll.
"With the recent restrictions, we are going to push that back, we are looking at dates in March. We want to give those locations time to get reopened and get themselves back on their feet before we kind of storm in with the Play for Kids Sake."
You can also sign up for a virtual murder mystery or a virtual escape room. Wismer-Van Meer says the theme for the murder mystery this year is a little bit different.
"This years them is a Transylvania theme, it's Dracula and a bunch of his friends that will be part of that murder mystery, it's actually Dracula's birthday party and we will have prizes for best dressed, so it promises to be a lot of fun."
All proceeds from Play for Kids Sake will go towards supporting the free programs offered by Big Brothers Brother Sisters.
They do have an early bird draw for teams that register by January 28 thanks to Boston Pizza. The winning team will get a free pizza party.
