Brant County honours the 100th anniversary of World War 1 this Sunday with seven ceremonies happening around the area.
BRANT COUNTY - This year's Remembrance Day marks the 100th anniversary of World War 1.
Seven ceremonies in honour of the courageous sacrifices of the hero's who serve and served for Canada in various wars. The community will be inviting the public to come together to honour the wars and those who lost their lives and continue to put their lives on the line.
Paris's Colour Parade will start at 10:30 a.m and go from Broadway St W to Mechanic St and then end at the Cenotaph on Grand River St N. Ceremony goes from 11p.m to 12 p.m.
Paris road closures:
- Broadway St W from William St to Mechanic St.
- Mechanic St from Broadway St W to Grand River St N.
- Grand River St S from Grand River St N to Dumfries St.
In St. George's Colour Parade starts at 10:30 a.m and goes from the St. George Legion to the St. George Cenotaph. The ceremony will be at 11 a.m to 12 p.m.
St. George road closures:
- Beverly St W from College St to Main St
- Beverley St E from Main St to King William St.
- Main St from Church St and High St.
-Lorimer St from Beverly St E and High St.
Burford's Colour Parade starts at 10:30 a.m and goes from the Burford Legion to the Burford Cenotaph. Ceremony starts at 11:00 a.m and ends at 12:00 p.m.
Burford road closures:
- Park Ave from Andrew St to Rutherford St.
The South Brant Legion will help the Burford Remembrance Day service as well.
