There are reports that the federal NDP have tentatively agreed to support the Liberals on confidence votes, as long as the Liberals act on national pharmacare and dental care.
OTTAWA - It appears that the federal Liberals have teamed up with the NDP.
Multiple media outlets are reporting the Liberals and the NDP have reached a tentative deal to keep the Liberal minority government in power until 2025. They say the NDP have agreed to support the Liberals on confidence votes, as long as the Liberals take action on national pharmacare and dental care.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will be holding a press conference 9:00 a.m. today and NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh will be holding his own press conference afterwards.
Interim Conservative Leader Candice Bergen says this agreement is a "callous attempt by Trudeau to hold on to power." She adds the Canadians did not vote for an NDP government and Canada is in for a "very rough ride" if the NDP-Liberal coalition stands.
