OXFORD COUNTY - The Oxford OPP are sharing tips when it comes to using Ride Share programs.

Programs have made traveling easier as they offer convenience and flexibility as they are readily available on your phone. When using such programs, the OPP says there are many things you should consider. The safety tips include;

- Verify the driver and vehicle

- Before getting into a ride-share vehicle, take a moment to double-check the following:

- Ensure the driver's name and photo of the driver match the information provided in the app.

- Confirm the make, model, and license plate number of the vehicle.

- Wait for the driver to confirm your name before getting in, especially in crowded areas.

Most ride-share apps allow you to share your ride details with a friend or family member. Utilize this feature to enhance your safety.

- Sit ting in the back seat can provide you with personal space from the driver and allows for easier exits on either side of the vehicle.
