The 4th annual Rock the Fund had an excellent turnout raising a total of $5,300 for the Children's Aid Society of Oxford County.
NORWICH - The 4th annual Rock the Fund Fundraiser was a huge success.
Sixteen teams signed up for the bonspiel this year on Saturday at the Norwich Curling Club. The event raised $5,300 for the Children's Aid Society and their endowment fund. The money will be used towards bursary programs, special programs and helping to send kids to camp.
Coordinator of Development for the Children's Aid Society of Oxford County, Ron Archer explains the history of the fundraiser.
"We started this year 4 years ago, this is our fourth annual, to raise money for our endowment fund and to get people interested in curling."
Archer says event was a blast.
"Everybody had a great time, there were so many curlers that never curled before and had a blast and said that they want to curl now."
Archer says they plan on bringing the event back next year and will be doing it at the Woodstock Curling Club.
