The election race is heating up for the position of Ward 1 Councillor in East Zorra Tavistock.
TAVISTOCK - Responsible decision making, honesty and transparency and someone who listens.
That's what Jon Ross says you will get if you vote him for Ward 1 Councillor in East Zorra Tavistock.
"I'm the type of person that, when you ask me a question or make a comment, I will get back to you and I'll share with you all that I know about the subject and if I don't know enough, I'll reach out and get the information that you're requesting."
The Product Manager for Cineplex Digital Networks feels the skills he has developed in his career will be of great assistance to the council table.
"I have to go out and source products for the company I work for. I have to ensure that there's a return on investment. I have to ensure the product is scalable and supportable and brings value to the business that we are selling it to. Everything there really is important to have on council."
Ross says one of his main priorities is the traffic lights in down town Tavistock.
"They changed them and you know, one street goes at a time. The round robin -- I think it's called -- cross walk, so when someone pushes the crosswalk, all streets stop and people can cross the street safely. I think that's a great safety feature for the downtown lights however, you know there's a number of things that could be done to help with traffic heading through town."
Ross also notes finding a return on the investment and better ways to utilize the new pavilion in Tavistock as issues he would like to tackle over the next four years.
Ross ran in the last municipal election.
He is one of four people vying for two positions.
