Classic cars will takeover the Sally Creek Community Centre in hopes of raising funds for DASO.
WOODSTOCK - A charity car show will be taking place at the Sally Creek Community Centre on Lakeview Drive.
It's scheduled for this Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with $10 vehicle registration and free admission for spectators.
Larry Oliver has been living in the Sally Creek community for about 10 years now, and he's known for taking his coral and shadow grey 1955 Chevrolet Bel-Air Sport Coupe to car shows in the area. He was asked to organize this car show to help promote the village.
"When they asked me to put on the car show, I said it had to be a charity car show. So we went to the community and they said the best charity that we could possibly donate to would be Domestic Abuse Services Oxford, also known as DASO."
Todd's Doggs will be on sight serving up hot dogs and coffee will be provided by Saturday Grind.
Door prizes will be drawn starting at 10:00 a.m. and Oliver says there will also be a silent auction with donated items from their sponsors
"Home Hardware gave us a $400 Yeti cooler, Libro gave us a beautiful cooler on a stand and a $50 coupon to Brickhouse Brewpub, Home Depot gave us a $50 coupon and we've got a gift basket from Picards."
The day will also include fun games for kids and adults to enjoy.
Oliver hopes to see a lot of smiling faces at the show, but he does have a suggestion if you can't make it.
"If you can't come out to the show, please still donate to DASO. If you can come out to the show, donate again! What we are really attempting to do is generate as much money as we can for DASO, which is very much needed in our community."
Larry Oliver stopped by the Heart FM studio to chat with Dan and Marcie on Wednesday June 12th. You can listen to the full interview below:
