My Big Yellow Bus provides updates to parents regarding bus cancellations via text and e-mail.
OXFORD COUNTY- Parents can rest assured that they will recieve any information regarding bus delays in Oxford County. My Big Yellow Bus is a website that provides detailed bus route information for routes across Oxford County.
Last year they introduced an e-mail and text notifcation option where parents signed in on the parent web portal on the website can request the notification. A message will be sent when the child's bus has been cancelled or delayed.
General Manager Maureen Coysn Heath says notifcations about bus cancellations are sent no later than 6:30am. She adds that the "best part is that the service is free apart from text message charges."
Heath said the service provides stress free mornings for parents. "We got a tonne of positive feedback last year, because it just takes the guess work out of mornings and morning time in every household is a hectic time,so to be able to glance down at your phone or computer or whatever device you use and see that your child's bus is delayed or cancelled is very convient."
The website subscribers have ballooned since the introduction of the cancellation notifications. This year the site has around 45 thousand subscribers compared to 11 thousand last year.

Parents can sign up to recieve the notifications to either phone or by e-mail by click the Weather notification tab in the parents portal.
