The Oxford Caribbean Canadian Association is inviting everyone to Pittock Park tomorrow for their second annual barbeque from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
WOODSTOCK - The Oxford Caribbean Canadian Association is about to host its second annual barbeque.
President Suzanne Phillips says they will be in Pittock Park from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. tomorrow and it's open to everyone.
"It's really just a time to come out, get to know us, and bring the kids! It always gets very fun and competitive. It's a great time to get to know us, we're bringing our food, we're bringing our culture and we want to have that chance to meet everyone face to face."
You'll be able to take part in the sack races, egg and spoon races, and play some soccer and volleyball. They will also have delicious Caribbean food on site and the adults will be able to stop by the Polish Hall afterward for the after-party starting at 9:00 p.m.
Treasurer Duen Daley says the non-profit organization started about two years ago.
"We decided to come together and form the Oxford Caribbean Canadian Association, an organization that seeks to help Caribbean families and people with whatever needs they might have."
He says the OCCA works closely with other organizations including Domestic Abuse Services Oxford and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oxford County.
