A 74 year old from Norfolk County is facing several charges after a staff member and a police officer were assaulted at a business in Tillsonburg on Broadway Street.
TILLSONBURG - A senior citizen from Norfolk County is facing several charges after a staff member and a police officer were assaulted at a business in Tillsonburg on Broadway Street.
Police say the 74 year old was be verbally abusive towards an employee on Monday morning around 10:30. Eventually things got physical and the police were called. The senior then turned his aggression towards the police officer. Both the store employee and the officer suffered minor injuries in the melee.
The 74 year old was charged with assault, assault a peace officer and two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
Police did not release the name of the senior.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock at a later date.
