Several guns were seized from a home on Huron Street in Stratford on Monday after police executed a search warrant.
STRATFORD - Several guns were seized from a home on Huron Street in Stratford on Monday.
Police say they were executing a search warrant when they seized three firearms, including a .223 calibre Ruger firearm, a 12 gauge Stoeger shotgun, and a .22 calibre Ruger firearm.
Police obtained the warrant after a traffic stop earlier in the day. The driver was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and a further search of the vehicle resulted in the officer locating a magazine for a .223 Ruger firearm, as well as a modified concrete nail gun.
A 35 year old man from Stratford has been arrested on the following charges:
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm,
- Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose,
- Careless Use of Firearm,
- Possession of a Controlled Substance.
A second occupant of the home, who can be identified as a 45-year-old woman, has also been charged with several firearms related offences.
