Shoppers Drug Mart will launch it's LOVE YOU Fall fundraising campaign this Saturday and all of the proceeds will support local women's shelters.
WOODSTOCK - Ingamo Homes is calling on residents of Oxford County to support their efforts of providing support, stability and housing for women and children as they transition from broken to brave.
Community members can visit their local Shoppers Drug Mart from October 9th to November 5th to support the LOVE YOU Fall fundraising program which works every year to support local charities for women's health.
Women have been majorly impacted during lockdowns and the economic uncertainty of COVID-19. More than 50 percent of people who lost their jobs due to the pandemic are women, left in unsafe conditions due to economic and housing insecurity. COVID-19 continues to fuel violence against many women in Canada, making it very important to donate to the LOVE YOU fundraising program. All donations will go directly towards local women’s shelters to provide women fleeing violence and experiencing housing insecurity with critical support services to help them transition to stability without abuse.
Executive Director of Ingamo Homes, Diane Harris, comments on the importance of the LOVE YOU fundraising program in today's society.
"As we continue to face the COVID-19 pandemic, we continue to see increased demand for our services as well as operational and fundraising challenges due to safety protocols for COVID-19. With the LOVE YOU by Shoppers Drug Mart fall fundraising program happening now on behalf of Ingamo Homes, community members can make a real impact for local women through donations of any size."
The in-store program provides customers with the opportunity to purchase and personalize LOVE YOU icons, which will be displayed on the program tree in all participating stores. Shoppers Drug Mart customers can purchase a “leaf” for $1, a "butterfly" for $5, an “apple” for $10 or a "bird" for $50, with 100 percent of funds staying in the community where they are raised.
