A former Lions Club President is in the running to become one of Ingersoll's next town councillors.
INGERSOLL - A local sports coach is looking to enter Ingersoll's political scene.
Dick Huntley has not only coached minor hockey in Ingersoll, but also minor ball in Foldens, ringette in Tillsonburg, senior ladies hockey in Woodstock and fastball in Woodstock and Foldens.
He has also played a big role in local organizations.
"I used to be President of the Lions Club in Ingersoll and President of both the hockey league and the baseball league here in Ingersoll. Now that I'm retired I feel I have the time and the drive to do some political work."
Huntley is looking to add town councillor to his long resume. If he is voted in next month; he would like to address lots of local issues.
"I'm interested in seeing some movement in the recreation centre and I'd like to see some housing for the seniors. I also want to continue the fight for the landfill site that's proposed for the Township of Zorra."
Ingersoll residents will head to the polls on October 22nd.
