An officer is not held liable for a man's injuries during a collision in January.
WOODSTOCK - An SIU investigation in Woodstock has come to an end.
It was on January 23rd when a concerned citizen called the police regarding a driver being asleep in his pickup truck. The engine was running on Bexley Street in Woodstock, and when the officer came to the scene, the driver woke up and proceeded to drive off. Shortly after, the driver lost control and ended up in a ditch on Dundas in the Zorra and East Zorra Tavistock Line.
Director of the SIU, Joseph Martino determined the officer was not in pursuit or near the driver when he crashed, and there was nothing to investigate regarding the officer's potential criminal liability in connection with the collision.
