The SIU have invoked their mandate after a Tillsonburg man was injured during an attempted arrest. Oxford OPP were trying to stop the male cyclist on Broadway Street around 8:30 Monday night after they spotted him driving all over the road. The cyclist pulled into a driveway, crashed his bike and fled on foot. Police took chase on foot when the man and officer both fell over a low laying fence. The man was arrested and taken into custody before being moved to the Tillsonburg hospital. He was later transferred to London with non-life threatening injuries. The Special Investigation Unit are currently investigating the situation.
