South Gate Centre will be able to host some of its programming at City facilities while its expansion takes place.
WOODSTOCK - The City of Woodstock has reached a deal with South Gate Centre.
South Gate is currently in the midst of its multi-million dollar expansion project, and it's now able to host some of its programs at city facilities while the work takes place.
The agreement approved by City Council states that South Gate will have access to the the Reeves Community Complex and the Cowan Park Sportsplex during available daytime hours starting September 9th and ending June 6th. It also states that other members of the public would be able to take advantage of those programs, even if they are not members of South Gate.
Crews got to work on the South Gate Centre expansion last month, and it's expected to finish in July 2025. The construction tender had a price tag of $7,178,890 including HST, when it was approved by City Council back in May.
Once it's finished the expansion will double the size of South Gate and offer new lounge areas, atrium areas, programming space, and a large event space that will be able to hold up to 400 people.
