The health Unit also confirmed two more recoveries in Tillsonburg and Norwich. One person has also been taken out of the ICU in Tillsonburg. The region currently has 86 active cases with over half of them in Aylmer.
OXFORD/ST.THOMAS/ELGIN - Southwestern Public Health has confirmed another 6 new cases of COVID-19 today and 2 more recoveries.
Both of the recoveries were in Oxford County and all of the new cases were in Aylmer and Bayham. The region currently has 86 active cases, which is a huge spike over the past two weeks. On July 20th, we only had 6 confirmed active cases, with 0 in Oxford County. Here is the complete breakdown of active cases right now according to Southwestern Public Health:
Aylmer - 50
Bayham - 19
St. Thomas - 2
Tillsonburg - 9
Norwich - 5
To date, the Health Unit has tested 18,447 people for COVID-19. We have 192 cumulative confirmed cases, 101 cases have been resolved, 5 people have died from the virus and we currently have 86 active cases. We have also have had four institutional outbreaks since the pandemic was declared. Three of the outbreaks are listed as resolved and there is still an active outbreak at the Terrace Lodge in Aylmer. We currently have one COVID-19 patients in the ICU at the hospital in Woodstock.
